Dear Residents of The City of Victoria,
It has been an honour and a privilege to serve you for the past three years. I thank you for your support and words of encouragement since my announcement to not seek re-election.
I am going to take some time to digest and reflect on my experiences over the past three years. It has been a fascinating journey.
The aspects that filled my heart with joy are many. But I must say unequivocally that the incredible ‘wealth’ of knowledge and energy, the countless residents who are passionately devoting their personal time to make Victoria the most livable city in Canada is staggering. This grassroots energy needs to be supported and encouraged through a healthy civic process and I hope in small ways that I have helped to do just that.
“Village to village, step by step”
This is still my vision and I will continue to advocate for improved walkability and livability for people of all ages. Our neighbourhoods are our strength.
I have high expectations for the upcoming City of Victoria Council and faith in the wisdom of our city’s residents to elect people who will work together to achieve success. Stability is important as we move forward together.
Sincerely and with gratitude,
